Below are testimonials from the 2010 Run the Whitsunday Great Walk.
Hi Guys,
What a fantastic well organised event. The SES did a brilliant very professional job. Drink stations were positioned great. The Podiatry lady was a blessing after I finished and was in incredible pain. It’s sad the rest of Australia doesn’t know about it as it is very unique run through beautiful country.
Well done, Thank you
Karl May
Hi Nickie,
Well done. It was my first event like this and can see there is a strong sense of community and fellowship amongst the running community. It was also great to see so much support from the SES, Police, lions etc they seemed to get enjoyment out of the run as well.
I enjoyed the day despite what my body is telling me today!! , next year??
Nice to have meet you and your fellow club members, the event was will organised and from what I saw ran smoothly, hopefully you can relax now it over? All the best.
Regards,
Stephen Oberg
Hi Nickie,
Apologies for not being at the presentation (I took off almost straight after I finished).
It was a fantastic event and I appreciate all the effort you guys must have gone to in order to stage it.
Thanks again,
Chris Freiberg
Thanks heaps from the Rocky Road Runners - your event was extremely well organised (although a lot tougher than I could have imagined). I hope you had a positive response from the EPA - as I was nearly last (due to my injury) I was on the look out for any paper etc. Thanks again, hope to run it again next year.

Hello,
Just wanted to say thankyou to you and your entire team for your excellent organisation of the run on the weekend. It was a great event and truly a credit to your club. I was amazed at how many people travelled for the race and how much of an impact that must have had on tourism on the town for the weekend, I think there were probably less than 10 local/Hamilton Island people.
Kind Regards,
Christie Leet
An exhausting but brilliant day…

What a scenic run! Over creeks, through clearings, winding up the side of ridges and dropping down steep dusty paths – this is the sort of running I like. The km’s slowly tick by and I’m out there enjoying myself on this Sunday morning.
By the time I read the 25km sign everything’s going brilliantly and the downhill track starts back towards Airlie Beach, the site for the finish, I’m racing past other people here and bar the cramp which hit me in my calf as I dropped down the hills, it’s the best race I’ve had in ages even finishing the final kilometre at sprint speed.
